Oh, how I love capturing "the first look." That moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time. His heart skips a beat, there's a glimmer in his eyes, and a warm hearted smile on his face. Typically, this moment is experienced with a large audience, while the bride is being escorted down the aisle at the ceremony. However, some couples decide to break outside the traditional barriers - creating a "first look" experience before the ceremony, with only each other present (plus myself and my trusty NikonD800, of course!). Although I take great pleasure in photographing every first look, ceremony or in private, I find that the intimate experience takes my breath away. There's that amazing build up of excitement when I'm getting them in position, facing away from each other. The anticipation when the groom has to wait patiently while I photograph multiple shots of his bride entering the room, or covering his eyes, or standing back to back with him. Then that moment comes when they turn to face each other. Enthusiasm, full hearts, and elation thrive in that very moment. It's an incredible snapshot in time that will forever resonate with them.
