Are you a behind the camera or an in front of the camera person?
Most of my life I have never wanted to be in front of the camera. Growing up, the staging of a fake smile while some tried to get their camera to work, seemed so corny to me. Who knew that years later I would be staging people professionally for pictures. Don’t get me wrong, I love the end result of a photograph but in the moment I just do not care to have a picture taken of myself. As I started shooting with cameras, I realized I am a behind the camera kind of guy. In an age of selfies, people who like to be in front of the camera has grown immensely. For me, the only selfies and/or photos that you will catch me taking is anything that would include my wife and my daughter (preferably in Duke gear or something that is just ridiculously over the top). I do have to say getting married and having a kid has really opened the door for me to get in front of the camera more. I dread it for a moment or two but who can say no to my two favorite girls. If anyone wants to know if God has a sense of humor, the proof is that I married my second shooter. She loves to take pics of our family (especially knowing that I highly dislike when that camera is pointed at me). I don’t know what it is, I just feel more comfortable being behind the camera. So what kind of camera person are you?
(Here is an example of the over the top pic I was referring to. This was are announcement that we were having a girl, yes that's right all the blue and we had a girl. We sure do love Duke!!!)
